The only downside is SEGA's isn't as stable & does crash from time to time. I also compared an unofficial rom/emulator with SEGA's when I bought it & SEGA's actually does a much better job of emulating the game. SEGA actually made their own emulator for their product, though.

The fact it would run through emulation with an ISO doesn't mean that because you can pirate the game for free easily, it isn't worth much at all. If it had Super bubsy, i'd maybe bite, but from a genesis owner's stand, no way.įor instance, if there was a hope in hell of Final Fantasy IX coming to Steam, mark my words, it would be an emulated version because Square-Enix doesn't have the time, care or resources to invest in a native port of such an old game. probably can haggle in another game, too. Or 4$ at most thrift stores for the superior ones for the genesis. as i said, 5$ for the inferior SNES games,

The argument makes the insinuation that ROMs should be free or near-free to begin with.įor instance, if there was a hope in hell of Final Fantasy IX coming to Steam, mark my words, it would be an emulated version because Square-Enix doesn't have the time, care or resources to invest in a native port of such an old game. The game is the product, whether or not it is emulated. The fact this uses ROM images doesn't change the fact you're buying commercial games. You could use that same argument for so many re-releases, such as the Mega Drive/Genesis ones. Originally posted by GAGMR:even if it wasn't just a couple roms
